To be honest, sometimes God makes me preach to myself all week before you ever hear a word of a sermon or teaching. My primary goal in preparing for a sermon is that the Lord will speak to and minister to you. But I guess it's good that I usually have to preach to myself first...God's word must first impact me and become real to me before I can ever expect to effectively share His word with you. If you can't find something in each of the passages for Sunday which speaks to your spirit, then we need to talk. Speaking of talk, that's what I'll do during our sermon time. A part of what I will be doing this week is calling all of us to a time of Prayer & Fasting, which we will conclude at Easter. We are at a crucial point in the life of our congregation and we absolutely must discern God's plan and direction. This is very important, so I urge you to attend worship this week. If you are unable to be present, CDs of the talk will be made available. In addition to the Scripture readings listed below, which Bob Childree will read, the Gospel lesson will be Luke 5:1-11. May I encourage you to read, meditate and pray about these passages before we come together on Sunday?
