Sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ through teaching, preaching, prayer, and worship.

What We Believe

Nearly 100 years ago, English author and critic G. K. Chesterton astutely observed that when we stop believing in the God of the Bible, we don’t believe in nothing, we believe in everything.

We in the Anglican Mission do not believe in nothing; nor do we believe in everything.  We believe in the God of the Bible – the God that has revealed Himself in the giants of the Old Testament: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, the prophets; but ultimately in His son Jesus Christ; the unique revelation of God that shows us the face of God and the heart of God.

We summarize our belief in an image of three streams coming together to form one river.

The First Stream, of course, is the Scripture.  That body, that record of what God has revealed down to us through the centuries forms a foundation for our belief and our work together in the Anglican Mission.

The Second Stream is the Spirit; the power of God moving and working among His people; the Lord and the Giver of Life that we experience in our everyday lives and our corporate life together.

The Third Stream is the Sacred; that which the church has always held up, held out, and held onto as Holy, set apart.  Things like the Sacraments, the Bread, the Wine, the Water; those channels in which God communicates and reveals Himself – this voice you are listening to right now, this message, a physical channel to hear the heart of God.  But also, the Creeds; that record of what the Church has always believed in all places and at all times, and we hold on to that record as well.

We in the Anglican Mission invite you to join us on a journey.  It’s a journey to bear witness to all that we embody in those three streams, but also a journey to reach out to others that do not know us.  We believe in something, and we want to share it with you and with the world.

God Bless!
